Is unique in that it helps people across the lifespan to do the things they want and need to do through the therapeutic use of daily activities (occupations)
They treat the patients having various conditions whether they are recovering from injuries or have developmental or cognitive disabilities affecting their motor skills, emotion or behavior.
Common occupational therapy interventions include helping children with disabilities to participate fully in school and social situations, helping people recovering from injury to regain skills, and providing supports for older adults experiencing physical and cognitive changes.
They look not only at the reasons a patient’s participation in activities has been impacted but also at the patient’s roles and environment and suggest the correction/modification accordingly.
