Unlike conventional pacemakers, a leadless pacemaker is not for every heart patient. However, it helps patients with severe bradycardia or arrhythmias associated with only one part of the heart(usually the right atrium). Leadless pacemaker implantation is a non-invasive surgical procedure where the self-contained pacemaker is inserted into the femoral artery via a catheter. The catheter then travels to the heart chamber, where the pacemaker must be placed.
