Multiple organ failure can be a life-threatening condition involving the physiologic failure of vital organs due to severe trauma, high-degree burns, severe infections, shock, and other systemic diseases. A multiple organ failure may require life support, mechanical ventilator support, immune nutrition, blood transfusion, and endocrine treatment.
