Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) is an emergency treatment for persons with heart arrest, stroke, or other emergency heart conditions. ALCS is provided by trained personnel using advanced techniques, medicines, and equipment such as cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and ventricular fibrillation (VF). In cardiovascular emergencies, the chances of survival decrease as the minutes pass. Emergency care providers must make quick decisions in providing basic and advanced cardiovascular life support using the standard ABCD approach.
