Endoscopic Mucosal Resection (EMR)
An EMR removes abnormal tissues, tumors, growths, and benign or cancer lesions anywhere in the Gastrointestinal tract. It is usually done by passing a catheter with light and other instruments from the mouth to the esophagus, stomach, or small intestine. For lesions in the large intestine, an endoscopic mucosal resection is done via the anal route.
