Foreign body removal is based on whether the foreign particles are embedded superficial or deep. This procedure is usually done after accidents or cases of blunt trauma. The area of concern is cleaned with saline, rubbing alcohol, or betadine, and the physician will check for any embedded foreign bodies. Superficial foreign bodies are picked out with the help of tweezers/ grasping forceps. Deep foreign objects may require anaesthesia, fluoroscopy, and incision surgery.
