Hemoclip is a medical instrument used to stop non-variceal(bleeding proximal to the ligament of Treitz when the esophageal, gastric, and duodenal varices are absent) bleeding in the upper part of the gastrointestinal tract. A long tube carrying the clip is inserted via the mouth up to the small intestine to clip the point of bleeding. This process has shown beneficial outcomes in critically ill patients.
