A hernia is a projection of a part of the body through a weak muscle and tissue. Usually, our muscles are strong and hold all organs tightly in place. The types of hernias are:
- Inguinal
- Femoral
- Umbilical
- Hiatus.
Surgery removes any chance of complication that may arise if the hernia is not repaired. A general surgeon may repair the hernia with keyhole surgery, robotic surgery, or open surgery. You are given general anaesthesia for the surgery.
