Hysterectomy
Hysterectomy is the surgery for removing the uterus. A hysterectomy is done when the patient has:
- Fibroid
- Cancer in the uterus
- Uterus prolapses.
A hysterectomy is done under general anaesthesia. The surgeon may use one of the approaches to do the hysterectomy:
- Laparoscopy
- Abdominal
- Robotic
- Vaginal.
After the hysterectomy, the patient shall not be able to get pregnant or have periods.
