IUI (intrauterine insemination) is a simple procedure that places sperm directly within your uterus, allowing healthy sperm to reach your egg. The purpose of this treatment is to increase the quantity of healthy sperm that enters the fallopian tubes during the woman's most fertile period.
A pregnancy test can be done two weeks after IUI. This procedure does not require anesthesia, and the treatment is usually minimally invasive. But, you may have cramping and pain during and immediately after insemination.
