Overview
The collaboration between the Federation of Royal College of Physicians in the UK and Aster MIMS, Kottakkal has led to the establishment of a state-of-the-art Internal Medicine Training program. This initiative aims to groom young graduate doctors to meet the same high standards as in the UK, adhering to the UK curriculum and assessments. The necessity for physicians capable of proficiently handling both acute and chronic medical conditions, providing exemplary care for both inpatients and outpatients, is evident. This curriculum is designed to equip physicians with the requisite skills to meet these demands effectively.
Aster MIMS, Kottakkal has been diligently delivering the complete IMT Stage 1 UK program, alongside the ePortfolio, since 2023. The two trainees enrolled in the program presented thorough evidence demonstrating their successful fulfillment of all mandatory requirements of the curriculum.
The Federation bestows three categories of accreditations, with the most prestigious being the Level 3 international accreditation from UK IMT. Securing this accreditation signifies that the curriculum delivery of the program at Aster MIMS, Kottakkal is on par with that of a UK program, as endorsed by JRCPTB and the Federation.
