The department also holds the record of having performed the first cochlear implant procedure in Kerala, in 2002.
Equipped with state-of-the-art machinery, experts at the centre have access to the full range of endoscopes, microdebriders, laryngeal shavers, facial nerve monitors and titanium plating sets.
The department also has an advanced auditory verbal therapy unit that helps patients recover successfully from a cochlear implant procedure. Some of the services at the department include micro ear surgery for deafness, endoscopic sinus surgery and phonosurgery for voice disorders.
The centre is staffed by highly qualified and experienced ENT surgeons, audiologists and auditory verbal therapists, who adopt an evidence-based and multi-disciplinary approach to diagnosing and healing patients.
