MIMS Institute of Gastro Intestinal Sciences provides the new advanced technology of Capsule Endoscopy in which a video capsule given to the patient for swallowing which helps to take photographs of the inside of the GI tracts. Primary use of Capsule Endoscopy is to examine areas of small intestine that cannot be seen by routine upper and lower GI Endoscopy. At the end of the procedure, approximately 24 hours later, the photographs are downloaded from the receiver that is worn on the waist of the patient into a computer, and the images are reviewed by a physician.
