Dr. Sudeep Koshy Kurien

Dr. Sudeep Koshy Kurien is a senior consultant in Interventional Cardiology at Aster MIMS, Calicut – one of the best cardiology hospitals in Kerala – where he has been serving for the past 14 years. He has a strong clinical focus on the diagnosis and management of coronary and structural heart diseases, with special expertise in complex coronary interventions, peripheral vascular interventions, left main PCI, aortic valve interventions (TAVI), pacemaker implantation, and CRT implantation.

With an active interest in academics, Dr. Sudeep regularly teaches postgraduate students and contributes to raising social awareness about cardiovascular diseases. He has also published numerous articles in reputed national and international journals and has presented at leading cardiology conferences.

Interventional Procedural Expertise

Dr. Sudeep is extensively trained in coronary angioplasty and has independently performed over 1500 PCIs, predominantly via the radial approach. He is highly experienced in primary and rescue angioplasty, chronic total occlusion treatment, bifurcation lesions, vein graft disease, and restenosis. He is proficient in advanced techniques such as direct coronary atherectomy and rotablation, and routinely incorporates IVUS and FFR in clinical practice.

He has extensive experience in peripheral vascular procedures, including renal, superior mesenteric artery, subclavian artery, femoral/iliac, and IVC angioplasties. Dr. Sudeep is also proficient in device therapy, with expertise in single- and dual-chamber pacemakers, AICD, and CRT devices.
