Haematology, Haemato Oncology & BMT

Aster MIMS, Calicut has a 4 bedded bone marrow transplant unit as per the standard JCI guidelines. All 4 rooms are having Positive Pressure Ventilation, HEPA filtration units, and well-trained Nurses with 1:1 care. The Division of Bone Marrow Transplantation is headed by Dr. KV Gangadharam, DM Medical Oncology, Head of Department of Medical Oncology and Hematology. The department has a highly qualified team of Hematologists to serve you the best care.

Transplant services

Over the past one year, 30 Bone Marrow Transplant has been successfully conducted at Aster MIMS Calicut in patients as young as 1 Year to as old as 60 Years. Both Allogenic and Autologous Transplant services are provided. Total Body Irradiation (TBI) facility is available with the help of the Radiation Oncology Department. The First TCR - Alpha Beta Depleted Haplo Identical Stem Cell Transplant in entire Kerala was done at MIMS Calicut.
