Hystero-laparoscopy, also known as diagnostic laparoscopy with hysteroscopy, is a medical procedure used to examine and diagnose certain conditions in the reproductive organs of a woman.
During hystero-laparoscopy, your gynecologist makes small incisions in the abdomen, usually near the navel, and inserts a thin, lighted tube called a laparoscope. The laparoscope allows the surgeon to see the pelvic organs, such as the uterus, fallopian tubes, and ovaries, on a monitor.
