When you visit a paediatrician with concerns about your child's autism, the doctor can make a diagnosis based on clinical grounds, primarily on the child's social interactions and verbal or nonverbal expressions. Based on these clinical signs, autism is primarily recognised as a pattern, and no further investigations are necessary. However, in certain cases, when the diagnosis is unclear or the child has additional clinical concerns in addition to social integration difficulties, additional investigations may be necessary.
