Sr. Specialist - Interventional Pulmonology
Dr. Ruby Joseph K is a highly skilled pulmonologist with over six years of experience in diagnosing and treating a wide range of respiratory conditions. Currently working as Senior Specialist in the Interventional Pulmonology Department at Aster CMI Hospital, Hebbal, she is proficient in pulmonary procedures, interpreting pulmonary function tests, and analyzing polysomnography reports.
- She has completed her MBBS from Tirunelveli Government Medical College and Hospital (2007-2013) and holds a postgraduate degree in Respiratory Medicine from Lilavati Hospital and Research Centre, Mumbai (2016-2019).
- Prior to joining Aster CMI Hospital, Dr Ruby was working as a senior resident at St. John’s Medical College and Hospital, Bangalore, where she played a pivotal role in managing critically ill patients and worked extensively in COVID-19 ICUs during the pandemic.
- She holds certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and is adept in procedures such as Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), endotracheal intubation, central venous cannulation, arterial line insertion, and hemodialysis catheter placement.
- Dr. Ruby has special interest in Sleep related breathing disorders and Asthma & Allergy.
- Dedicated to medical education, Dr. Ruby actively mentors undergraduate and postgraduate students, junior residents, and technicians. She has specialized training under the International Sleep Research Training Program (ISRTP) conducted by the World Sleep Society (Class of 2022) at St. John’s Medical College and Hospital, the only center in India offering this program.
- Additionally, she is a certified Fellow of Sleep Medicine (FSM-ISDA) by the Indian Sleep Disorders Association, achieving this distinction in 2022.
- Her passion for academics and research is evident in her role as a faculty since 2023 and core faculty since 2024 at the World Sleep Academy, an educational initiative by the World Sleep Society.
- Dr. Ruby has presented numerous posters and case studies at prestigious national and international conferences, including NAPCON, the European Respiratory Society (ERS) Congress "Lung on Fire" session in 2021, and the World Sleep Congress in Rome, 2022.
