Neonatal and Pediatric Physiotherapist
Ms. Konica Layak stands as a distinguished Neonatal and Pediatric Physiotherapist, currently practicing her esteemed craft at the renowned Aster CMI Hospital, Bangalore. Her academic journey led her to the prestigious Manipal College of Allied Health Professions, Manipal Academy of Higher Education, Manipal University, Karnataka, where she earned both her Master of Physiotherapy(Neonatal and Pediatric) and Bachelor of Physiotherapy degrees. With a wealth of knowledge and expertise, Ms. Konica Layak has cultivated her skills in the intricate art of neonatal and pediatric physiotherapy.
Her invaluable experience spans a broad spectrum, encompassing the treatment of pediatric individuals from neonates to teenagers. She has extended her care to high-risk patients across various medical domains, including preterm neonates, orthopedics, oncology, neurology, cardiorespiratory, and nephrology. Her expertise includes pre- and post-surgical care, ensuring optimal rehabilitation for young patients undergoing medical procedures. Beyond the clinical setting, Ms. Konica has devoted her skills to benefitting children in special schools, championing health promotion and prevention.
Ms. Konica's commitment to holistic well-being is further underlined by her certifications in Bayley Scales Infant Toddler Development (BASID-4), Neurodynamic Solutions for Upper and Lower quarters (NDS), BLS and ACLS, and Assessing Oral Feeding Readiness through Neonatal Salivary Analysis, offering a comprehensive approach to patient care. She also practices her exercises based on Neurodevelopmental Therapies and Sensory Integration Therapies, enabling her to address the sensory and motor needs of children effectively. Her contributions have not been limited to the pediatric setting, as she has extended her compassionate care to COVID patients in ICUs during the pandemic in Mumbai.
