Dr Akhil M is a neurosurgeon with special interest in peadiatric neurosurgery and minimally invasive spine surgery. He did his training in neurosurgery from Medical College Kozhikode. He did a fellowship in peadiatric neurosurgery from Hospital for Sick Children, Toronto Canada which is the best peadiatric neurosurgical centre in Canada. He also did a fellowship in spine surgery and attended training in advanced spine surgery from Toronto Western Hospital, Ontario, Canada.

He is an expert in the management of  hydrocephalus, peadiatric epilepsy, spinal dysraphisms, peadiatric functional surgeries like dorsal rhizotomies, deep brain stimulation & peadiatric brain and spine tumours. Another area of his surgical expertise is minimally invasive spine surgeries including discectomies, foraminotomies, instrumentations, fusions and tumour resections.
