Dr. Faheem Ahmed Abdulla
Consultant - Surgical Oncology
Dr. Faheem earned his MBBS and Masters in General Surgery from the esteemed Kozhikode Govt. Medical College, followed by accreditation with the Diploma of the National Board in General Surgery. To pursue his passion for Surgical Oncology, he underwent superspecialist training, completing his MCh in Surgical Oncology at the prestigious Regional Cancer Centre, Thiruvananthapuram. He further earned the Doctorate of the National Board in Surgical Oncology. He was awarded the Fellowship in Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery ( FALS- Oncology) by the Indian Association of Gastro-Intestinal Endosurgeons and also the Fellowship of European Board of Surgical Oncology (FEBS ) from Florence, Italy and also secured second place globally.
Additionally, Dr. Faheem completed an observership in Thoracic Oncology at Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai. He is skilled in and is one among few surgeons in Kerala who practice single port VATS keyhole surgery for lung tumors. Proficient in Laparoscopic Surgery, his key areas of expertise encompass thoracic oncology, breast oncoplasty, colorectal cancer, and gynecological cancer. With over five years of experience, including training in prominent cancer institutions in Kerala and India, he brings his expertise to Aster MIMS, Calicut.
Achievements
- Awarded the Silver Medal in Fellowship of European Board of Surgery in Surgical Oncology (FEBS) Examination conducted at Florence, Italy in 2023.
- Was awarded the prestigious Dr Thomas Cherian Memorial Golden Scalpel award for best outgoing MCh surgical oncology resident from Regional Cancer Centre, Thiruvananthapuram.
- Was awarded best surgery post-graduate in the Young Scholar Award South Zone competition and subsequently the 2nd prize as best surgery post-graduate in National level competition.
- Won best free paper presentation during IASO NATCON 2019 at Kolkata.
- Selected to present research work at International Conference on Surgical Cancer Care-SSO 2020 at Boston, USA in 2020.
- Awarded the Baroda – GCRI IASO Minimal Invasive Surgery Travelling Fellowship, 2021.
- Won 1st prize in National Surgical Oncology Quiz competition in 2018, 2019 and 2021.
- Has Multiple publications in national and international journals.
