Dr. Schiller Jos Thekekara

Dr. Schiller Jos Thekekara is a highly experienced Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon and Sports Injury Specialist with a distinguished career in orthopaedics and sports medicine. Currently associated with Baby Memorial Hospital, Calicut, he specializes in arthroscopy and sports injury management. He serves as a medical adviser to P.T. Usha’s School of Athletics and the Sports and Education Promotion Trust. A respected member of the Indian Arthroscopic Society, the Indian Orthopaedic Association, and the Kerala Orthopaedic Association, Dr. Schiller has also contributed as a faculty member at various prestigious medical conferences, including IAS (2008, Manipal), OSASICON (2011), and OASISCON (2012).

His educational background includes an MBBS from Govt. Medical College, Trichur (1986), followed by a residency in orthopaedics at Trichur Medical College (1987), a D. Ortho from KMC Manipal (1991-94), and a D.U. in Traumatology in Sports from Paris 6 (1992). He also completed an internship at the National Institute of Sports Traumatology in St. Maurice, Paris. Professionally, he has held significant roles, including Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at the National Hospital, Calicut (1996), heading the Sports Injury Division at the same hospital (1998), and later joining Baby Memorial Hospital in 2008. With extensive expertise in orthopaedic trauma, arthroscopy, and sports injury rehabilitation, Dr. Schiller Jos Thekekara continues to make valuable contributions to sports medicine in India.
