Dr. Sujith V Nayanar is a senior consultant at the best ophthalmology hospital in Calicut - Aster MIMS. He focuses on all types of cataract surgeries, advanced corneal transplantation surgery, artificial cornea implantation surgery (first surgeon to perform this surgery In Kerala), limbal stem cell transplant surgeries, and advanced keratoconus surgical treatments which includes Intrastromal ring implantation, which is performed only in selected centers in Kerala.
He has expertise in Laser and Lens-based refractive surgeries which helps in getting rid of glasses and contact lens for those with refractive errors. He has also received special training in the medical and surgical management of Glaucoma and anterior segment diseases. He has more than 15 yrs of experience in these fields of Ophthalmology.
Dr. Sujith Nayanar completed his MBBS education from Calicut Medical College, MD in Ophthalmology from AIIMS, New Delhi followed by FRCS from Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow, DNB in Ophthalmology, and later, FICO from International Council of Ophthalmology, UK, & MRCS (Ophth). He did an ICO fellowship In Cornea and Refractive Surgery at Helsinki University. He did short training in Ocular Surface diseases at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute and also under renowned surgeon Prof. Scheffer Tseng at Miami, USA.
He has published 10 articles in peer-reviewed international journals and co-authored books and written many chapters in PG level books on Corneal diseases and Cataract Surgery. He has worked with various hospitals like AIIMS, New Delhi, and Vasan Eye Care Hospital before joining Aster MIMS.
