Dr. Vinoth Kumar D is a highly qualified and experienced cardiologist who has recently joined Aster MIMS Calicut as a Senior Specialist in the Cardiology department, effective from April 18, 2024. With a strong academic foundation and extensive clinical experience, Dr. Kumar brings expertise in diagnosing and treating a wide range of cardiovascular diseases.
Dr. Kumar completed his MBBS from the prestigious Government Vellore Medical College in Vellore. He further pursued an MD in General Medicine from Government Medical College, Thiruvananthapuram, and went on to specialize in Cardiology, obtaining his DM in Cardiology from Coimbatore Medical College & Hospital, Coimbatore. This comprehensive medical training has equipped him with a deep understanding of both general medicine and specialized cardiology care.
Prior to joining Aster MIMS Calicut, Dr. Kumar worked as a Consultant Interventional Cardiologist at VIMS Superspeciality Hospital in Salem. In this role, he gained significant expertise in interventional cardiology, performing advanced procedures to treat patients with complex heart conditions. His experience includes managing acute cardiac emergencies, performing angioplasty, and stent placements, and handling other critical interventions, making him well-versed in providing life-saving treatments.
