A pioneer in her field in many ways, Dr. Sameera VV’s expertise lies in glaucoma management, cataract surgeries, and treating retinal issues – surgical and medical.
The founder and director of Kerala’s first exclusive eye clinic for vitreoretinal services, she has been a co-investigator for multiple national and international clinical trials.
The secretary of the women doctors’ wing of the Indian Medical Association (IMA), she has been at the forefront of driving several new advancements in ophthalmology in India.
Dr. Sameera has completed a Fellowship in Vitreo Retina Surgery (FVRS) from MM Joshi Eye Institute, Hubli; and another Fellowship in Anterior Segment Surgery (FIAS) from Ahalia Foundation Eye Hospital, Palakkad.
She also holds an MBBS and a Diploma in Ophthalmic Medicine and Surgery (DOMS) from Government Medical College, Calicut.
In a career spanning over 15 years, Dr. Sameera has served at many hospitals across Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, and Kerala, before joining the Aster family.
