Senior Specialist - Medical Gastroenterology
Dr Rajiv Mohan is a Senior Specialist in Medical Gastroenterology at Aster Mother Hospital, Areekode. He completed his MBBS from Calicut Medical College 2008-15. He completed MD General Medicine also from Calicut Medical College 2016-2019. He passed DNB General Medicine on 2020. Later he finished 3 year full time residential Postgraduate program in DM Gastroenterology from Calicut Medical College. Before joining Aster he was working as Assistant Professor in Department of Gastroenterology at Calicut Medical College. He has expertise in performing diagnostic and therapeutic, upper and lower gi endoscopic procedures, high resolution GI manometry.
He trained in endoscopic procedures – which includes diagnostic procedures like OGD, Flexible Sigmoidoscopy, Colonoscopy, Side view endoscopy and therapeutic procedures like Esophageal variceal ligation (EVL), Stricture dilatation, Pneumatic Balloon Dilatation (Achalasia), Polypectomy, Hemocliping,Esophageal Stenting and High resolution Manometry. He is also trained in other procedures like USG Abdomen, US guided liver biopsies and FNACs.

RESEARCH AND PUBLICATION
- Have done a Thesis on “QT interval prolongation: A risk factor for development of hepatorenal syndrome in cirrhotic patients with acute variceal bleeding” which was accepted by KUHS university and accepted for publication in PARIPEX journal
- Conducted research on “Pleural fluid to serum ratio of bilirubin and cholesterol as a marker for exudative pleural effusion - an observational study” which was accepted by KUHS university
- Published An unusual case of neuroleptospirosis with hepatorenal syndrome-An Unusual Presentation-(PARIPEX, JUNE 2022)
