Overview
Dr. Phani Raja Kumar M graduated MBBS from Rangaraya medical college, Kakinada in 2007. He completed his Masters in General Surgery from Rangaraya medical college, Kakinada in 2013 and DrNB Surgical Oncology training in 2018 from Apollo Cancer Centre Chennai.
- Worked as a consultant surgical oncologist with madras cancer care foundation (MCCF) (2018-2025) is an Oncology group practice led by Dr Ayyappan.S, Dr Vikas Mahajan, Dr C. S Mani and Dr. S.G Ramanan at Chennai. Our group is a multidisciplinary team consisting of Medical, Surgical and Radiation Oncologists, hereditary cancer specialist, Palliative Care Specialist, psycho oncologist, social workers, dedicated chemotherapy sisters, trained palliative care nurses, pharmacists and tumour registry and tumour bank staff, mainly functions at Apollo Cancer Centre, Kumaran hospitals and Voluntary Health Services Hospital (VHS).Henceforth interested in working as multidisciplinary unit to provide better comprehensive cancer care.
- Got trained in minimal invasive surgical oncology (Gastrointestinal, Genitourinary, Gynae &Thoracic oncology), oncoplastic breast surgeries, complex cytoreductive surgeries by eminent national faculty and pioneers (Dr. Ayyappan.S, Dr. Vikas Mahajan and CS mani) in the field.
Area of expertise
- Interest in organ-based oncology, he was the clinical head of NET (neuroendocrine tumour) clinic at apollo cancer centre.
- Specialized in surgeries for in peritoneal surface malignancies and performed more than 100 extensive cytoreductive surgeries for peritoneal metastasis in ovarian, colorectal cancers and pseudomyxoma peritonei.
- Specialized in HIPEC (hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy) &PIPAC for peritoneal malignancies and conducted various studies on morbidity and mortality of HIPEC at our institution.
- Specialized in minimal invasive thoracic oncology and HITOC (Hyperthermic intrathoracic chemotherapy) for pleural malignancies.
- Specialized in fluorescence guided surgery (ICG based)
- Specialized in minimal invasive gynaec oncology and sentinel lymhnode assessment in gynaec cancers, fertility sparing surgeries, and in complex and re do gynaec oncology
- Specialized in limb salvage surgeries in bone and soft tissue sarcomas.
- Specialized in all types of breast cancer surgeries (breast conservation, sentinel lymph node biopsy, oncoplasty.
