Dr Pankaja completed her MBBS from Bengaluru Medical College in 1998 and pursued her DNB from Bangalore West Lions Eye Hospital and Cornea Grafting Centre. She did her fellowship in Vitreo Retinal Surgery at Minto Ophthalmic Institute, Bengaluru.She is a dedicated and compassionate doctor who has handled many complicated cases. Dr Pankaja began her clinical career as consultant at Bangalore Hospital from 2005 to 2009.After completing her Retina fellowship in 2011 she worked at Vasan Eye Care as Retina Consultant from 2011 to 2015.She worked at Nethradhama Eye Hospital at Indiranagar as Senior Consultant Vitreo Retina from 2015 to 2022. Currently, in addition to Aster RV Hospital, she is a visiting consultant at Eyedentity clinic and Abhigna Eye Hospital.

During her retina fellowship, she presented several papers in national conferences. Her thesis on ‘Clinical study of profile of retinal detachment in Vasculitis and Management’ was published in the Indian Journal of Ophthalmology in May 2023.
