Spine and Spinal Cord Tumors

Spinal tumors are abnormal growths that develop in the spine, originating either directly from spinal structures (primary tumors) or spreading from other areas of the body (secondary or metastatic tumors). Primary tumors may arise from bones, nerves, or soft tissues, with types including haemangioma, osteochondroma, and schwannoma among others. Secondary tumors are commonly associated with cancers like breast, lung, and prostate, that metastasize to the spine.
