Liver Cirrhosis is a condition in which the liver does not function properly due to long term damage. Cirrhosis is most commonly caused by alcohol, hepatitis B, and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease. Mr. Jehozadak was suffering from Liver problems and in 2013 a test revealed that he is diagnosed with Liver Cirrhosis. Mr. Jehozadak was in a critical stage and started searching for a hospital to go under a liver transplant. The challenge with the procedure was to have a bloodless surgery or surgery without the transfusion of allogeneic blood due to the patient’s personal religious convictions (Jehovah's Witnesses). Dr. Rajiv Lochan & Dr. Arun V performed the liver transplant by adhering to the requirement and we make sure that the religious sentiment of the patient is not avoided. Using a bloodless treatment also helped Aster CMI, Bangalore team to bring down the cost and utilize the benefit for their future patients.
