by Dr. Pooja Murthy

Dr. Pooja Murthy, a distinguished Consultant in Critical Care Medicine at Aster Whitefield Hospital provides valuable insights on the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

An intensivist is a medical doctor who specializes in critical care medicine, which is the care of patients who are very sick and have organ failure or potential threats to their life.  These patients may also have severe infections, worsening organ function due to poisoning, or severe trauma from traffic accidents or head injuries.

Some patients who require advanced surgeries or transplants will need to be in the ICU for the first few days after the procedure. At Aster Whitefield Hospital, we have the expertise and facilities to treat you well.
