PCV, the thickness of blood, goes up in most patients with severe dengue fever and is an important marker of a severe infection.
Treatment options
There is no specific medicine for Dengue fever, and the most important care is supportive care with a lot of fluids. Adequate fluids and monitoring can be done in an ICU setting to pick up on any organ failures. Patients with these features will need good ICU care.
