Centre Of Andrology and Men's Sexual Health is one of the few centers in the region that offers a complete spectrum of treatments for male infertility, sexual dysfunction, and other fertility issues in men over the age of 18. Headed by a qualified and experienced andrologist, the center is equipped with the latest technologies to ensure optimal patient outcomes and faster recovery.
Male infertility is a common health condition, typically seen in men over the age of 25. Data reveals that, due to changing lifestyles, excessive stress, behavioral and environmental issues, hormonal imbalances, genetic disorders, and psychological problems, male infertility is alarmingly increasing in Kerala.
According to a study by a Kochi-based infertility center, the trend is becoming increasingly apparent in the IT industry. The findings show a significant rise in the number of infertile men in Kerala over the past ten years.
At the Andrology & Male Infertility Centre, we adopt a patient-centric treatment approach. Our expert clinical team, with over 16 years of cumulative experience, thoroughly evaluates the patient's history and current conditions. After conducting a detailed counseling session with the patient and their family, we develop a customized treatment plan.
Services
At Aster Medcity, we aim to provide complete, comprehensive, and compassionate care all in one place. We offer a range of treatment options, ensuring the best possible treatment plan is created based on the patient's needs.
Diagnosis
Male infertility can be caused by various health issues and medical treatments, including varicocele, infections, ejaculation problems, undescended testicles, hormone imbalances, tubule defects, chromosome issues, celiac disease, certain medications, and previous surgeries. We offer a range of diagnostic services, such as semen analysis, scrotal ultrasound, hormone testing, post-ejaculation urinalysis, testicular biopsy, sperm function tests, trans-rectal ultrasound, and anti-sperm antibody testing.
Medical Management
Once the underlying cause is identified, your andrologist will recommend a treatment plan that includes lifestyle changes, medications, and counseling.
Penile Implant for Men with ED
A penile prosthesis is another treatment for men with erectile dysfunction (ED). These devices can be either malleable or inflatable. The simplest type involves malleable (bendable) rods that are surgically placed in the erection chambers of the penis.
Chordee Correction (Penile Curvature)
Chordee is a birth defect caused by abnormal development of the penis, often resulting in a downward curve. The urinary opening may also be on the underside of the penis (hypospadias). Surgery can typically correct this condition.
Premature Ejaculation / Ejaculatory Dysfunction Management
Premature ejaculation happens when a man ejaculates too quickly during intercourse, sooner than he or his partner would like. It’s a common issue, affecting 30% to 40% of men. Causes can include physical problems, chemical imbalances, and emotional or psychological factors. Treatment options include techniques to delay ejaculation, counseling, and medications.
Varicocele Treatment
A varicocele is an enlarged vein in a man’s scrotum that can cause pain, swelling, or infertility. Varicocele embolization uses imaging and a catheter to place a small coil or embolic fluid in a blood vessel, redirecting blood flow away from the varicocele. It’s less invasive than traditional surgery, can relieve pain and swelling, and may improve sperm quality.
Advantages over surgery:
No scar or sutures
No anesthesia required
Daycare procedure (no hospital stay)
Minimal bleeding
Minimal pain
Vasectomy Reversal
Vasectomy reversal is a common outpatient surgery to undo a vasectomy. The surgeon reconnects the tubes in the scrotum through which sperm pass.
Surgical Sperm Retrieval - PESA, TESA, and Micro TESE (for Azoospermia/Severe Male Infertility)
Surgical sperm retrieval is a procedure where sperm is directly extracted from the testicles. It’s often combined with other fertility treatments, like intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI). The procedure can be done using a fine needle or by making an incision in the testicles to take a biopsy. Men who have had a vasectomy, have low sperm counts, or face difficulty with ejaculation due to injury or infection are good candidates for this procedure.
