Double Balloon Enteroscopy is an enteroscopic technique for visualization of small intestine. It is the first enteroscopic technique that allows for the entire GI tracts to be visualized in real time. The technique involves the use of a balloon at the end of enteroscope and an over tube which is also fitted with balloon. Inflating and deflating the two balloons, the scope is advanced into the GI tract using a push and pull method to visualize the entire small bowel. Small bowel lesions can be identified and conditions like bleeding and polyps can be treated in the same sitting.
