On the occasion of Doctors’ Day, Dr. Azad Moopen, Founder Chairman and Managing Director of Aster DM Healthcare, unveiled India’s first-ever medical dispatch system powered by artificial reality. This groundbreaking facility, dedicated to the nation, aims to revolutionize emergency medical services in the north Malabar region by leveraging 5G satellite technology and artificial reality. With Aster MIMS serving as the nodal agency, this state-of-the-art system will enable swift and efficient medical treatments in any emergency situation across the 50 hospitals in Malabar region.
This emergency medical aid method is known by the acronym RRR (*Response *Rescue *Resuscitation . This is the first time in India that medical care at various stages is coordinated in this way.
Various phases of medical care such as providing immediate medical care in emergency situations (onsite care), receiving treatment from nearby medical facilities (primary care), providing treatment in a vehicle until the patient safely reaches a hospital with state-of-the-art facilities (transport care), and urgent treatment at the hospital (destination care) is designed in this multi-level process.
Being a part of this network, the doctor who manages the casualty or emergency department of any hospital in Kozhikode and nearby districts can provide immediate life-saving assistance to any patient who comes before him with any need. The patient will be under the supervision of the Medical Dispatch System at Aster MIMS and the doctor in charge until they can safely reach a higher center such as a medical college if necessary.
All the biomedical equipment inside the ambulance is interconnected via Wi-Fi. These will immediately transmit the information to the control room and expert doctors will monitor the patient till they reach the hospital and if necessary give instructions to the junior doctors in the ambulance. One can seek help from an expert doctor in real-time using smart glasses. The medical dispatch system, began its trial run on May 27, World Emergency Day and is fully operational from this month onwards.
