Satwik Das, a year old boy got a part of the Liver from his own mother. Aster CMI hospital ILC team shares that the unique features involved in performing the transplant were the complex decision making in terms of timing and other aspects of the treatment with this technically challenging surgery, within a large multidisciplinary team. A new portal vein was fashioned, also providing challenging peri-operative and post-op care to a baby weighing 8.4 kgs. This surgery was performed under the Affordable Transplant Initiative.
