Symptoms of Fibroids

The symptoms of fibroids vary depending on the size, number, and location of the fibroids. Common symptoms include:

  • Heavy bleeding during menstruation
  • Painful menstruation
  • Infertility
  • Pregnancy loss

Diagnosis and Treatment for Fibroids

Fibroids are diagnosed with a pelvic exam and ultrasound. Treatment for fibroids depends on the severity of the symptoms and whether or not the woman wants to become pregnant. Treatment options include observation, medications and surgery.
