Medically, deglutition or the “science of eating” or has witnessed a dramatic evolution over the years. This has enabled doctors to understand and address complex problems related to swallowing with utmost precision.
The Department of ENT, Aster Medcity, along with the Association Of Otolaryngologists Of India (Cochin Chapter), Cochin Society Of Otolaryngologists For Medical Services (CSOM) and Deglutology Research Foundation conducted a one-day CME on various aspects of issues related to swallowing, on Sunday, 27th of August 2017.
Named AOI ASTER DEGLUTICON 2017, this CME featured an eminent faculty panel comprising experts from the field of ENT, Head & Neck Surgery, Gastroenterology and Swallowing Pathology, who delivered detailed lectures on diagnosis and management of various problems related to swallowing.
The CME was inaugurated by Dr. Harish Pillai, CEO -Aster Medcity & Cluster Head (Kerala) - Aster DM Healthcare, in the presence of Dr. Jayakumar R Menon (KIMS Thiruvananthapuram); Dr. Unnikrishna Menon (AIMS, Kochi); Dr. Rathesh Kumar (KMC Manipal); Dr. Krishnakumar T (AIMS, Kochi); Dr. Manju Elizabeth (KIMS Thiruvananthapuram);Dr. Mathew Abraham - Senior Consultant, Neurology, and Dr. Arun Lal - Consultant, Radiation Oncology, Aster Medcity.
