Master Anandhu is a cheerful young boy from Thrissur district. He was born with a condition called “Arthrogryposis Multiplexa congenita” which causes contraction of all his joints which rendered him a significant physical disability.
He is looked after by his single mother living in a rented house. His optimism and desire to prove his ability to the world prompted him to focus on his positives. Overcoming his disabilities, he cleared his schooling with very high marks. He wanted to educate himself further to live an independent life.
Considering his disabilities, to attend higher education, he needed a mobility device and special adaptive devices for learning. FIREE (Foundation for International rehabilitation research and empowerment) an NGO and NIPMR (National Institute of Physical medicine and rehabilitation) of Kerala State government prepared an assistive technology device for mobility and learning. However, Anathu’s family could not afford the learning device.
Aster sick kids was approached by FIREE to help Ananthu. Though the primary focus of ASK is extending support for medical care, ASK stands for a holistic betterment of children. Aster sick kid’s foundation went beyond their call of duty to fulfil the dreams of this motivated young boy. We found a benevolent well-wisher, Mr Francis Tharayil, President, Kunnukara Grama Panchayat.
ASK facilitated the procurement of the device.
Mr Francis Tharayil , President - Kunnukara Grama panchayat, Mrs Ambili - COO Aster Medcity , Dr Gladys Cyril Consultant - COE Pediatrics, Aster Medcity handed over the devices to Ananthu.
We at ASK , Wish and pray a great future for Master Anathu .
