Dr. Donald Farquar, one of the most respected Geriatric Physicians in the United Kingdom and International Head, Royal College of Physicians, inaugurated the Pulmonary Rehabilitation Programme at Aster Medcity on World COPD Day, 15th November. Conducted jointly by the Department of Pulmonology and Physiotherapy & Rehabilitation, this advanced programme will offer rehabilitation therapies that include breathing exercises and lifestyle/diet modification for patients with respiratory diseases and disorders.
“We have successfully implemented such holistic pulmonary rehabilitation programmes at the Edinburgh Hospital in the United Kingdom and thousands of patients are benefitting from them”, said Dr. Donald Farquar at the inaugural function. The function was attended by Ms. Santy Sajan, COO; Dr. Praveen Valsalan, Consultant Pulmonologist and Mr. Gireesh Kumar, Head of Physiotherapy & Rehabilitation, Aster Medcity.
