December 21, 2017, Kozhikode: - The widely popular public healthcare awareness animation series, Dr. MIMS, that featured on Television for the last six years has now been rebranded as Dr. Aster. This unique, healthcare initiative from Aster MIMS has been an integral part of the organisation’s commitment to educate the general public on health issues and preventive measures in order to lead a healthier life.
Keeping in mind the popularity of this animation series and the fact that MIMS parent organisation Aster DM Healthcare, is a name that goes beyond the boundaries of Kerala, it was felt that the time was right for Dr. MIMS to assume a larger role. Dr MIMS is an animated character who is a doctor with deep medical, knowledge, vast experience and profound sense of social responsibility.
The rebranding of Dr MIMS to Dr Aster was announced today by Dr Azad Moopen, Founder and Chairman of Aster DM Healthcare at a function held at the Aster MIMS auditorium. Speaking at the occasion, Dr Moopen said, “In 6 years with more than 2200 episodes, Dr MIMS has become a household name in Kerala, synonymous with health and we would now like to take it to a wider audience. Under the new name Dr Aster, this educational animation series will soon feature in English, Hindi, Arabic and several other languages.”
Dr Azad Moopen felicitated Dr Ramesh Bhasi, Team Lead, Dr MIMS and Head, Rheumatology Department, Aster MIMS, Vipin Chandra, BMG Animation Company and P Shajahan, Senior Coordinating Editor, Asianet News. Present at this function were Mr. U Basheer, Executive Director, Aster MIMS, Dr. Rahul Menon, CEO, Aster MIMS, P Jayakrishnan, CFO, Aster MIMS, Dr Bijay Raj, Consultant Family Physician, Aster MIMS.
The new Dr Aster animation series will be telecast on Asianet News daily at 1.55pm, 6.55pm, 1.10 pm and 7.55 am.
