Various programmes were conducted to commemorate The World Heart Day by Kozhikode Aster MIMS. A walkathon was conducted from Kallathan Kadavu to Aster MIMS to show that exercise was important for a healthy heart. More than 300 people participated in the walkathon along with Aster MIMS Cardiology Department, Aster Volunteers, and the unit members of the film Theevandi.
An awareness class was conducted at Aster MIMS after the walkathon. Aster MIMS CEO Dr.Santy Sajan, cine artists Samyuktha Menon, Surabhi, Actor Sudeesh, Theevandi Director Fellini, Music Director Kailas Menon, Aster MIMS Cardiology Department Senior Consultants Dr.Shafeeq Mattummal, Dr.Anil Salim, Dr.Sudheep Koshy Kurian, Dr. Salman Salahuddin, Dr.Bijoy.K. and Consultants Dr.Fiaz, Dr.Deepak Kumar gave a talk. Before the Walkathon, a bike rally was flagged off by Kozhikode Traffic Police Assistant Commissioner Abdul Razak.
To commemorate the World Heart Day, a free cardiac medical checkup was organized by Aster MIMs at Kozhikode West Hill and Vadakara Asha Hospital.
