NHS Humber and North Yorkshire (ICB- Integrated Care Board) and Aster Medcity, Kochi, Kerala have entered into an MoU to strengthen collaborative efforts aimed at promoting workforce training, academic excellence, and cultural exchanges between the two organizations.
The MoU was signed by Farhaan Yasin, Aster India-Vice president in the presence of doctors at Aster Medcity-Kochi - Dr. Geetha Philips, Director - Academic Affairs Training Programme Director - Internal Medicine Training(UK). Dr. Anup R Warrier- Chief of Medical Services, Dr. V. Narayanan Unni, Advisor, Academics and from Northern Lincolnshire & Goole NHS Foundation Trust- Paul Bunyan, Deputy Director of People, David Sprawka, Head of Employment and Laura Standland, Talent Acquisition Manager and Mike Reeve, Deputy Chief Executive, NAVIGO House, Grimsby, North East Lincolnshire. And Dr.Joji Kuriakose, Consulent Psychiatrist, Navigo, North Lincolnshire.
The collaboration encompasses various aspects of healthcare, education, and research, including the development of joint research projects, exchange programs for teaching and research personnel, student electives, clinical observerships, clinical fellowships and other training opportunities linked to employment. Notably, trainees from Aster Medcity will be directly recruited to both junior and senior levels at specific NHS hospitals without the need for the Professional and Linguistic Assessments Board (PLAB).
