Aster Medcity celebrated a get-together of children who have undergone kidney transplantation. To mark the successful completion of pediatric kidney transplant surgeries, PeeKoo, a mascot designed to create a child-friendly environment in the hospital was launched. Basil Joseph, Malayalam Director and Actor performed the digital launch of PeeKoo.
Being one of the very few centres in the country providing kidney transplants, and the second largest centre to provide robot-assisted transplant surgeries, Aster has completed 365 surgeries so far and in which 222 are robot-assisted and 42 are for children below the age of 18.
PeeKoo is an illustrated fictional character that represents the pediatric related healthcare services from Aster Medcity. PeeKoo triggers positive recall in children about their health and healthcare. With PeeKoo, an element of personification to pediatric services boosting positive and highlighting the importance of creating a child-friendly environment in a hospital setting is shared. A variety of games and activities, and gifting children with PeeKoo printed caps and mugs kept the children entertained throughout the event.
