Calicut, 02- May-2023: The Aster MIMS Cancer Congress, led by eminent doctors in the field of cancer treatment, concluded at The Gateway Hotel, Calicut. Doctors from hospitals across India were present in this continuing education program which discussed controversies and treatment protocols related to various cancer. The event, inaugurated by Dr. Azad Moopen, Chairman, Founding Chairman & Managing Director, Aster DM Healthcare was organized by a team consisting of doctors from the Oncology Department of Aster MIMS, Calicut.
Many academic papers were presented at the Cancer Congress on types of cancer affecting the human body, its innovative treatment option, and different methods of diagnosis. Gynec-Oncology session which discussed various types of cancer affecting women , Hematology focusing blood cancers and bone marrow transplantation, a Lung Cancer session which covered lung cancers in detail, breast cancer session which included expert classes on breast cancer, Gastrointestinal session discussed abdominal cancers, session on head and neck cancers, The Cancer Congress included comprehensive analysis and learning sessions, including general practitioner cancer session, Precision Oncology workshop and SBRT practicum workshop that discussed general cancer treatment.
The event is led by Prof. Dr. Somashekhar S P (Chairman - Medical Advisory Board, Aster DM Healthcare GCC & India), Farhan Yasin (Vice President, Aster India), Dr. Abraham Mammen (Chief of Medical Services, Aster Mims Calicut), Dr. K V Gangadharan (Director, Aster International Institute of Oncology) and Dr. Arun Chandrasekaharan (Consultant - Medical Oncology and Organizing Secretary).
