Aster Prime Hospital at Ameerpet hosted a Health education and workshop on chronic kidney disease and renal care on 08-12-2021.
The program was organized by the Nursing team, to spread awareness regarding the healthy lifestyle and care of chronic kidney disease patients, who undergo hemodialysis regularly. The family members of the patients were invited to the event.
We aim at early initiation of CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) at home, which will increase the survival rate, in case of an emergency situation. Therefore we train the family members for BLS and enable them to deliver an effective CPR." Said Ms. Lijo Thomas (Head Nursing) in her introduction and welcome address.
Dr. B. Sudhakar, (Sr. Consulate nephrologist in MBBD, MD, DNB) HOD of the dialysis department inaugurated the workshop by lighting the lamp along with Dr. C Uma Sreedevi (CMS) and Mr. Nidhin Antony (Head Operation) and Dr.Chandrashekhar (Intensivist).
The video, PowerPoint Presentations, and displays were very informative for the patients and families. Dr.Sudhakar addressed the queries of the participants. The BLS training for the family members led by Dr. Chandrasekhar and the team was the highlight of the day. Hands-on training helped to build confidence in them to manage an emergency situation at home until a medical team reaches them for help.
